Denis Santachiara
Born in Campagnola (Reggio Emilia) on 4th May 1950. Since 1975
Santachiara has dealt with the linguistic potential of design through
aesthetic processes inspired by new technology and its methods, creating
animated and functional objects that have been displayed in private
and public galleries and important exhibitions including: Venice Biennal
(1980), Documents 8 Kassel (1986), National Museum of Modern Art - Tokyo
(1985), MOMA - New York, Dusseldorf Museum, Vitra Museum - Baelles,
Creativitalia Tokyo Makuhari. \n\nHe has been in charge of many exhibitions
including “La Neomerce” at the Milan Triennal (1985) and
the Centre Pompidou in Paris. On behalf of ICE: “I segni dell’Habitat”
at the Grand Palais in Paris (1987), Berlage Museum-Amsterdam, Haus
der Kunst-Munich and Ecostyle for the ONU conference on the environment
held in Istanbul.\n\n1990 - Founded Domodinamica, the first collection
of animated household objects intended for manufacturing production.
\n1997 - Responsible for the preparation of “New Persona”
at the Florence Biennal. He has worked and still continues to work with
Italian and foreign companies for the design and research of new products
including: Italtel Telematica, SNIA Viscosa, Centro Stile FIAT, the
“Montedison” Cultural Project, the French Ministry of Cultural
Heritage, Artemide, Vitra, Yamagiwa, Panasonic, Swatch, Mandarina Duck,
Rosenthal, WMF. |
